How to deposit a check (at OAS FCU)

I’ve been asked to write this post because oftentimes it comes to the staff’s attention that members don’t understand that there are many ways to make deposits that are not either in person, or via the ATM. That will be the subject of this post, yet, before I go on…

Do you know how to endorse a check properly? If not, click here.

Depositing in person
The Co-Op network grants members
no-fee access to over 30,000 ATMs.

You can make a deposit with the Credit Union’s office located at the OAS building, at 1889 F Street NW in Washington DC.

Depositing by mail
You may also mail your check(s) deposit to:

OAS FCU

1889 F St. NW

Washington DC 20006

A note of warning: it’s never, ever safe to mail cash and the Credit Union asks us specifically not to do this.

Via the ATM

The ATM at the OAS building on F Street accepts deposits. It’s especially handy if the Credit Union is closed or you don’t have time to go inside.

Via the Co-Op shared branches

The Co-Op shared branch network rivals the largest banks
in number of offices.
OAS FCU is part of the Co-Op network, which allows our members to make deposits, loan payments, and withdrawals at over 5,000 shared branches across the United States. To find the nearest shared branch to you, Co-Op provides a very handy search engine, found here.

Via a Co-Op ATM
Co-Op also puts at our disposal over 30,000 ATMs, and quite a few of them accept deposits. To find one near you, using the same locator just click the “Advanced Search” tab, select ATM from the drop-down menu, and “Take deposit” from the four options on the right side of the screen. Enter your locations, and select Search.

Via OAS FCU’s Mobile Banking app
OAS FCU’s Mobile Banking app allows you to make a deposit of an actual check by submitting pictures of the front and back (endorsed, of course). It’s a one-of-a-kind ability that comes in very handy when you are not near, but have a smartphone.

To use the OAS FCU Mobile banking app, visit your Apple Store or Google Play and look up “OAS FCU Mobile”. Download, install, and set it up. Here are the enrollment instructions.
