I am very, very happy to announce that one of our volunteers, K.C. Soares, has been named Volunteer of the Year by the National Administration of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU). This organization supervises the relationship between the federal government and credit unions on legislation matters, and adapts federal legislation to the Credit Union sector; additionally, NAFCU represents all credit unions when dealing with the government. As a matter of fact K.C. Soares is a member of the NAFCU Advisory Committee for our region.

It’s a great honor but, at the same time, a much deserved one. Not only has K.C. been a

Chairman of the Awards Committee of NAFCU..
volunteer at OAS F
CU for over 15 years; her leadership, creativity and professionalism have helped the credit union make leaps forward in areas such as communication with members abroad, internal organization, or the development of a mission, vision and plans for the future that are meant to bring OAS FCU to the vanguard of the credit union field.

I personally maintain a very cordial relationship with K.C. because I see in her a woman always dedicated to the common good, with an undeniable enthusiasm for our credit union, its staff, volunteers and, of course, its members. I wish her my most heartfelt congratulations for this award, and hope it will be the first of many.

Below is the official Press Release about her award.
